Balance: Asymetrical vs Symmetrical

Balance is one of the principles of design. Visual balance is important in pictures because without it the image feels wrong.

There are two types of balance. Symmetrical and Asymmetrical.

Symmetrical balance is basically when an image has the exact same thing on both sides. Asymmetrical balance is when there are different things on both sides of the picture, but visually they balance out.

The class was divided into 3 groups. As a group you were required to collaborate to create two black and white photographs. One that shows symmetrical balance and one that shows asymmetrical balance.
