When trying to answer this question, many students conceded that Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We then had to inquire about what effects the beholder? Society? Culture? Peers? What makes us believe and feel what we do about beauty?
We discussed trendy cliche beauty that we see and compare ourselves to in the media, and then we looked closer at the hidden beauties of this world. The beauty the general masses overlook.
Good photographers see beauty, where others dont. Good photographers can capture beauty in a way that makes sense to the general masses.
Each of us being unique individuals have our own unique beauty, and also a unique perspective on the beauty of this world. The challenge in this class will be to find the beauty everyone else overlooks and show it to them, and with it, a bit of your own beauty.
